Bharatpur is a city situated at Rajasthan state in India. In a first sight it looks like a small crowded town, but it has a great history of Jat dynasty. The treasure of beautiful forts, palaces and world famous bird-sanctuary makes it the hottest tourist destination of Rajasthan. Bharatpur is only 175 km away from Delhi, a capital of India.
 
 
History of Bharatpur:
 

The history of this region started from the 5th century, when Matsaya Kingdom flourished here. The Name of the city is derived from Bharat, the brother of Lord Ram.

Another brother of Ram, Laxaman is a family deity of Royal family of Bharatpur. It is to believe that the city and fort was founded by Lord Aditya in the early 17th century. Maharaja Suraj Mal was the most successful ruler in Jat dynasty.

He made the state a formidable force in the region. During British Raj, The rulers of the region enjoyed the salute of 17 guns. After independence, in 1947 state merged in an Indian Republic.

 
 
Bharatpur Tourist Attractions
 

Bharatpur city with a great history has a lot of places for visit. It has a great fort like Bharatpur fort and Deeg fort and Bharatpur is world famous for his bird Sanctuary ‘Keoladeo Ghana National Park’. There are so many other places to visit, too.

Deeg Palace:

This fort was built by Maharaja Suraj Mal. This fort has a moats, ramparts and gateways which impress the tourists. Internal part of the fort is all most ruin, but the clock tower still standing with the pride of his old days glory.

Kaman:

This small town is situated at the north of Bharatpur, is believe to be in existence from the time of Lord Krishna. A ruin portion of a temple still exists here and one can see the 84 highly decorated pillars of the temple, named ‘Chourasi Khamaba’. There is a tell that Maharaja Jai Singh of Jaipur took the idols of Madan Mohanji and Gokul Chandraman to his capital Jaipur but due to some reasons the idols brought back to Kaman.

 

Bayana:

Bayana is a small town only 45 km from Bharatpur. This place is famous for his fort called Bijay Garh (Vijay Garh) was built by famous Hindu King Banasur, during the era of Lord Krishna and later renovated by Maharaja Vijay Pal. The fort considered to be the third largest fort in India.

Keoladeo Ghana National Park:

The world heritage tourist site Keoladeo Ghana National Park is a synonym of Bharatpur in the map of world tourism. The National Park also called the Bird’s Paradise. Every year number of bird species migrates from the different parts of world (Europe, China, Siberia and Tibet) for breeding. There is more than 300 species of beautiful birds. So it could be a heavenly experience for those, who want to get a sweet wild experience.
